"If the Cause is Right the Means will Come" Mahatma Ghandi

When I founded the Center of Hope For Women several years ago I knew nothing about domestic violence, except that which I personally experienced in one r relationship. I had no idea how many valleys and hills I would have to travel, how many sleepless nights I would have, either recalling my own abuse, or someone else's. Listening to someone who had confided in me.

As the Center grew, and we began to accomplish one feat at a time, and I refer to it simply as feats because it took our giant souls to climb to giant heights in accomplishing these things. (Those who are curious about what we have accomplished may simply call us and we will let you know, or visit our website is: newburyport cybercafe.com.

The Center's Board is made up of some of the finest people I have known, both men and women and our goal is Peace in the Family and an end to domestic violence.

While we understand the complexities of abuse, we cannot fathom the "why" of it, and it is this phenomenon that we constantly try to unravel.

This Center is unique and operates differently in many respects from many domestic violence centers and is based on Hope. It is creative and innovative and allows the individual who comes to us for help to feel very much a part of our center, and not alone. We act to bring about proactive change.

We are in the process of looking for a few good men and women to become involved with our Center and to become a part of our board, helping us to continue to carry the voice of Hope to our community. We are looking for ordinary folks.

Like Ghandi, we too have always believed that if our cause was right, the means would come. We do not apply for state, federal, or city funding and all funds are generated by its founder, Rosemarie Greene for the general operation of the center, along with contributions from generous patrons. If you feel you have a desire to help stamp out domestic violence and save families, then please do call us and get involved.
